"Only when I grew to love you did I understand the relativity of time; then, I wished to embrace you forever, hoping that eternity would last just a few minutes more."

Just got word from family friends of ours who live in northern Lebanon. They were on the border crossing into Syria and a truck went out of control and hit their car and killed their two small children and one of their mom's (I don't know which one it was). We spent about a week with them a year ago and then he's been to our house and hung out too. I don't understand why stuff like this happens. Sammy and Abigail were 7 and 4. They were gorgeous kids with blond hair and hysterical to boot. Sammy had a lisp that was adorable and he was so curious about everything. He proposed to me a few times. Abigail was such a daddy's girl and so fragile but sooo full of energy. I can't understand why these two precious innocent kids were killed by a random accident. I don't know how the parents will keep going. If I were the mom I would just curl up in a hole and never come out. I don't know how you lose your only two children and keep on going. I just don't understand, God, why?

This isn't an exact quote because the book isn't with me but it's an amazing book soo...:
"I used to not like jazz music because it never resolved. Then one day I saw a man playing the saxophone. I stood and watched him for 15 minutes and he never once opened his eyes. I think you have to watch someone love something before you can fully appreciate it too, it's like they're showing you the way. I used to not like God because he never resolved. But that was before all of this happened...." -Blue Like Jazz

So I'm walking back from the mailbox scanning the mail looking at the letters and who they're addressed to. Noticeable there's a letter from Baylor for me and I'm thinking to myself, "you know if I had to decide on a college today it would be Baylor, not A&M" (those are the two I've been debating between) But then I'm thinking how on earth are we going to pay for that?!! My family is SOOO not wealthy by any means... So anyway I'm wondering how this is going to pan out but thinking it's okay because God definitely provided a HUGE scholarship for my brother all the way through Baylor so it's okay, He'll take care of me if that's where I'm supposed to go. WELL... I open my letter expecting something about housing and it's to inform me that I got the Provost scholarship!!!! I'm sooo excited! That's a lot of money and I'm super super ecstatic!

I was sitting on my bed looking through my picture book at pics from last summer. It really doesn't seem like that long ago to me. There was a song playing on my cd about time just slipping away and I noticed that there were only about 30 more pic slots in my book. Pretty soon those will be filled with pics from my senior year and I'll be in college looking back at them thinking that it really wasn't that long ago. That's so weird. I can't believe how fast time has gone by this year. In about 3 or 4 weeks we'll be out for Christmas break and only have one semester left. How weird is that? I guess it's just late at night and I'm nostalgic....

hola! well kids.. this year is flying by and i didn't even notice it until today when we talked about how many weeks of school we have left. yikes! (i love that word!) I'm kind of nervous about report cards because I have no clue where I stand in my classes wheras usually I know all of my averages ahead of time. I watched part of the Blues Bros on tv today. Man, that is such a great movie. I think it was cut a lot because there wasn't anything bad in it but it was soo good! well here I am again putting off my homework.. it's wonderful =) and I have to make stuff for french crepes for tomorrow...woops!...

quote of the day:
Anne: hey look there's a bunch of black guys on our street!
MM: no I don't think so...
Anne: Oh, you're right, they're just really dirty white guys.

(actually it turned out to be some mexicans working on a yard...i love my sister)
i love wednesdays! Although the gov optional test was slightly confusing... it's a good day! It's wonderful outside! I'm so glad it's finally cold/cool. And Bush won! I told my parents last week that he would win comfortably but who could be sure. Actually I think I'm more excited about Daschle getting ousted from the senate than I am that bush won. haha. Today in IPC we watched bush's acceptance speech and I want to be laura bush! Oh my word she's gorgeous. and I loved her pink suit =) She's so cute! so now I have to go memorize 35 lines of Hamlet.. what? who's the retard for waiting until today to say my lines? me?
